Stress Test
A test that measures how your heart performs when it is working harder than at rest.
During a stress test, your heart rhythm, blood pressure, and symptoms are monitored while you walk on a treadmill or, when walking is not possible, while medication is used to increase heart workload.
The results help your cardiologist understand blood flow to the heart muscle, evaluate chest pain or shortness of breath, and guide whether further testing is needed.
